This is what Jackie calls a "Puke Session" because neither of us could think of anything funny that rhymed with "Peel." (If you don't know what that means, fine, but you should probably read more.) We'd sit down together, name a song at random, and try to play a few bars into the recorder without consideration for much of anything except that we didn't tip over any booze; the drum machine shuts down (by foot) three beats after I nod to her. The result sounds backwards, since it doesn't sound "live" and distorted like our "real" "live" stuff but is, in a way.
This is ancient, from the dark days when alcohol, not each other, reciprocated each of our affections. Wow, whatever.
I like Joy Division enough that if someone belched into a tape recorded and said it was Interzone, I'd listen to it 1,000 times. Don't bother downloading this unless you feel the same way.

Note that part of this post is written in Courier, which is fixed-width. That's for a reason, dumbass. (If any of this if fucked up, either tell me or fuck off.)
WHAT'S THE SECRET?
I can never tell if Ken Marshall fucked up Skinny Puppy's "Rodent" intentionally (as an homage-joke to suggest how brilliant Skinny Puppy are) or if he really did not know "the secret." When the rhythm keyboards kick in, the following couple of bars do not simply repeat themselves, but repeat themselves with a two-additional-note offset. The effect is, of course, that the sequence sounds slightly different each time through.
Fucking bonafide geniuses, they are. It took me months to figure out what the hell was going on with that. (I actually just gave up and slowed down the song to half-speed.)
What follows is the base sequence (I don't read notes, but neither did Clapton so fuck off); Skinny Puppy repeats it by adding two 00-notes at the end of this, before beginning again, while Ken Marshall simply repeats it over and over so that you're hearing the same thing over and over again.
"What's the secret?" asks the Ken Marshall version. Is he being sarcastic? I can't answer that, because I have no fucking clue what this song is even about, though it's in my top-five favorite songs to listen to over and over and over again, stoned or not.
If you're a real Puppy fan and find this boring, fucking kill yourself.

| Joy Division "These Days" Studio Cover |

This is what you might call a "happy" Joy Division song, "happy" meaning "way creepily ecstatic."
I think at this point we've ceased being responsible for our actions, so whatever!!!!! Obviously I am changing any plans to go out into the world this morning and be productive.
This is another studio file we found and spliced up all Walmart proper-like. Jackie on bass as usual, demonstrating I forgot what I was going to say.
I bet Dave regrets that fuckin' Jakups-N-Jackie queer-dream post.
Note that I have no idea what the hell I was thinking when I did that horrible TWANG thing towards the end. Also note the sound effects that start off the song, a happy hooterish tribute to the sluts in the picture hanging all over Dave and requesting he drag them back to his Brave Cave.
Incidentally, the name WARSAW WANNABES is not some name we actually went by as a band or anything.

More crap we're finding on our old hard drive that's cool to us because it brings back memories but may bore you to tears. This is Jackie's (bass) and my (I suck) live version of Joy Division's "Wilderness," preceded by a section of our studio version, which I popped in just to give a little idea of what it's supposed to sound like when the people playing aren't morons high on whatever and when our stupid sister Katey-Kate (drum machine programming) doesn't leave her cell phone right next to one of the microphones.

Anyway you homeslice it, Audacity is a howlingly tits application, but it just happens to be free, which makes it even better. In case you're not good at math.

Like, say, if you and your stupid wench (who plays bass) have a cover of a Joy Division song, a cover that doesn't sound too bad except for certain shitty elements, you can seamlessly snip out said shitty elements and no one will know. Unless the song ends up being two minutes long and obviously edited, i.e., sounding like something you'd hear in a Walmart ... i.e., sounding like this one clearly does. But what the fuck.
(Actually, the "splices" you can hear are fuck-ups from the original "session," if you will, and have "fuck all" to do with Audacity....)
